Need a place for a family celebration? Or perhaps a venue for a club meeting or even a kindergarten place for your child? The Village Hall is an ideal location with an ever increasing number of bookings being taken. Built as the village school in 1848, it is managed by a Committee of local people. They are responsible for the financial management, maintenance and development of the property for the local community. Over the past few years the Main Hall has been renovated and improved so as to provide an attractive, warm and safe environment. This hall is used extensively by the community as a whole and by others. Regular activities include a kindergarten during school terms, a flourishing Bingo club primarily for the elderly, Women's Institute, young people's band practice, dog showing classes, Parish Council meetings, dance group, Church fetes, functions and private hiring for children and wedding parties etc. The year 2000 saw the completion of an extensive refurbishment of the Small Hall, now known as The Palmer Room. This provides a self contained comfortable venue with facilities for disabled people, and is very suitable for small group activities such as local society meetings, lunch clubs, evening classes, social work and counselling. It is already used regularly by a Keep Fit Group and a Sewing Group. The Village Hall is centrally located in the Parish has good parking facilities and stunning views over the Thames Valley. These parking facilities can by prior arrangement be used by ramblers and walkers and if required access to the Hall for toilets etc. For further information on hiring or helping with the running of our Village Hall in the first instance please contact the Caretaker telephone 0118 947 0339.
