Planning applications

The parish council has an advisory role in the deciding of all local planning applications.

That means that councillors make recommendations to the District Council as to whether individual plans should be passed or turned down. Depending on the class of the application, a refusal by the Parsh Council may oblige the District Council to decide the application at a planning committee meeting, rather than through 'delegated powers' assigned to a planning officer.

The parish council aims to canvas the opinions of people who are immediately affected by any planning application. Full copies of current applications are available for inspection by arrangement at the Parish Clerk's home.

For further information on planning applications please contact the Parish Clerk Laura Viney by email or by telephone on 01491 68 0887.
